Workshop Case Study

Problem
We (a large banking institute) provide our new and current managers with different workshops to help improve leadership and management skills. We create and deliver some workshops internally, but we do not have enough resources or expertise to provide all the workshops desired. We needed support from highly experienced external partners with valuable content.
Solution
Leadership Innovations delivers the Performance Leadership workshop for our organization multiple times each year. Participants sign-up and take part in either an online or in-person session.
Results

Participants from several different classes shared the following messages.
I feel better equipped to understand and support the learning process as individuals take on new challenges.
I will approach my one-on-ones with a greater focus on open-ended questions. Also, I will be more understanding of the different phases of learning a new skill.
This was a great class, and the instructor did a fantastic job presenting the material and keeping everyone fully engaged.
Honestly, it is one of the best leadership classes I’ve had to date.
Todd Long is a very engaging and fun facilitator. I enjoyed his style and felt he kept the group very engaged on a personal and professional level.

Retreat
Case Study

Problem
Our department (Lab Company) was experiencing a lack of motivation, focus, and comradery. We were going through the motions but not fully committed to the outcomes or one another. We needed help.
Solution
Leadership Innovations created a full-day retreat that was fun, focused, and fulfilling. We spent time building and renewing relationships with one another. We collaboratively and authentically discussed our current-state challenges and future-state opportunities. We learned and practiced principles for building a healthy team culture. We identified strategic opportunities to pursue together.
Results
The participants reported a stronger sense of belonging and purpose. They reported feeling more energized and focused on creating a healthy department.

Coaching Case Study

Problem
I (Director at a Research Organization) needed help thinking through my current leadership challenges. This included…
My leadership style – I can come off a little too harsh and uncaring at times.
My people development skills – I needed help learning how to coach the managers that report to me.
My collaborative facilitation skills – I needed help leading consensus building problem-solving conversations.
Solution
Todd Long met with me one-on-one to think through each of my challenges. He helped me think through the core issues, provided resources (handouts, articles, videos, books) to assist my learning, kept me accountable by setting clear goals, and encouraged me throughout the 12 months we met.
Results
I have tempered my harsh and direct voice. I am more empathetic and understanding. I enjoy coaching the managers that report to me and have seen them take on more ownership and decision-making. Finally, our team solves problems with more candor, thoughtfulness, and energy. We are a collaborative team that makes better decisions now.

Academy
Case Study

Problem
Our organization (IT Company) lacked people with the skills and desire to lead others. We needed a comprehensive way of identifying, selecting, and training people within the organization to take on new leadership opportunities. Also, we needed a learning experience that incorporated our vision, values, and desired culture.
Solution
Leadership Innovations came along side us and collaboratively created and delivered a 6-month leadership academy that aligned to our vision, values, and culture. They made the extra effort to understand our business and incorporate that into the academy.
Results
Multiple groups went through the academy, and we saw a noticeable difference in performance, engagement, advancement, and retention.
